Welcome to Detta — Heritage Craft Knitwear with a Modern Soul
About
On the historic framework‑knitting boundary of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, lies Detta Knitwear; a studio dedicated to reviving the art of hand‑crafted wool knitwear. Inspired by the rugged coastlines of Ireland, Scotland, and the British Isles, we re-imagine centuries‑old traditions using 100% British and Irish spun wool and vintage knitting frames.

Creativity
Our products are more than just accessories, they are tactile narratives of tradition and innovation, crafted in small batches on hand flat vintage knitting machines, using 100% British or Irish spun wool, lambswool and natural fibres.
Each piece is hand‑finished with care, gently washed and, where appropriate, felted to enhance both softness and durability—designed to be worn, loved, and kept for years to come.

Values
Rooted in the values of slow fashion, Detta champions a sustainable approach to style. We believe in making less, but making it better—opting for ethical sourcing, responsible production, and timeless design that transcends trends. Alongside our staple favourites, our evolving seasonal palettes are inspired by the natural tones of the Irish & British Isles, reinterpreted each season in fresh colourways that breathe new life into traditional knit patterns and contemporary silhouettes.

Detta stands for more than aesthetic appeal. It’s a commitment to mindful fashion—garments with purpose, integrity, and enduring character.
